KV331 SynthMaster 2.9 - Overview and first patch
Long overdue a look at and a first patch using KV331's SynthMaster 2.9. Even though this synth is superseded by SynthMaster 3 it's still being sold and seems to still be within the companies support so let's get down and dirty and let's see what makes this thing tick in a first look

iConnectivity MioXL - Program Change issue
Переглядів 2012 годин тому
Apparently this video was too offensive for the iConnectivity user group on Facebook... Soo... I guess I'll just toss it out here and hope someone has an idea. So here's a thing that has puzzled me about the MioXL. There clearly is Program Change preset change functionality. But... it seems to be really specific in how it wants to be addressed. To me this seems weird and also: if you would want...

MIDI routing is not the most exciting topic to talk about, but it is a fundamental part when dealing with electronic music production. In my search to make a system where I only need to route things once I came across several MIDI routers but ultimately picked the mioXL. Was it the right choice? Time will tell. But until that happens let's just take a look at what this unit does and doesn't do....

Signal degradation. A tale as old as time. Although... not often to the extremes we tend to push it today thogh. In this video I want to take a look at three different LoFi-ification plugins. I've been quite the fan of Post-Rock for years now and one of the things you see a lot in that scene are sustainers. So I had to have one. But the Ebow seemed pretty expensive. I did a little experiment (and other titles to generate reach)

So I kinda sorta involuntarily conducted an experiment on my viewers and the results are in. Within 2 days it's pretty clear that polarizing your content is beneficial for reach. Which is sad. Because I like to approach things in a more objective and neutral way. What happens when you take UA's amazing LION synth and turn it into a drum computer? You get Battalion. A deeply tweakable drum synthesizer with tons of modulation and sequencing. I would definitely class this as a "tweakers" VST as the amount of controls is amazing but can definitely be overwhelming for the people like me that are less versed with drum computers. I bought it recently and it's hell of a beast! Excellent sound. I also look forward for MIDI drag&drop. It's possible to rebuild from internal sequencer to DAW and set the parameters via automation....but it's annoying. 😂 I made a template with all channels routed to audio tracks for better workflow. Hope they'll hurry up! 😅
Does this work for MacOS ?
If you can find a MacOS D-50 librarian program it should. Sending Sysex over midi works under Mac. As I don't own a Mac I can't recommend any software though. The D-50 Librarian I use is windows only. So for that you need bootcamp or a vm or something like that. Probably best to Google a bit to see if that software exists or if there's a way to run the windows program on your machine.
The guy is pathetic.a clown.he needs help
Thank you ❤ this is a really helpful video I’ve just ordered a mioxl today, it comes tomorrow so fingers crossed I can set it up
You got this! Enjoy your MioXL 😎
I can’t stop watching this hahahhahahahahahha
Thank you for sharing! A flanger used in moderation can be very kool!
It sure can 😎
No output of sequences to MIDI is inexcusable. Hard pass.
I can't give a date right now, but I can say it is in the works 😉 So if that's the only thing holding you back right now: keep an eye on the change logs 👍🏻
How do you record overdubs on the h6 essential? I can't figure it out
Unlike the H6 it's not in the manual so I don't think you can. But I'll double check on the unit tonight 👍🏻
Bit later than hoped but I have to conclude that this option is not available on the H6 essential.
Bedankt. Very good video.
I find that videos with polarizing or sensationalized titles tend to be disappointing so I skipped your ‘bad’ video. Now that you explained it,I watched it and it all makes sense. I’m not a fan of being manipulated into taking some polarized stance, too bad how people go out of their way to get sucked right into it. Some of us truly enjoy your content for what they are, keep up the good work!
Thanks for the kind words. And I agree. I'm definitely not going to persuit this path even though UA-cam seems to favor it. It just doesn't feel right and it doesn't feel like the sort of content I should be making. So no worries, I'll be using my more neutral view from the next video onwards 😀
All that is required these days is a Macbook with a decent amp sim (i.e. Neural DSP plugin) and a wireless MIDI footswitcher.
fingers arent gonna fix ur tone if ur playing thru a shit speaker
As a person with a fully analog pedalboard, and also an multi fx unit, you are absolutely right. For sessions and jamming, pedals are almost better anytime for quickly curating sounds. But for gigs, multifx for reliability!
I do see your point, but I think it would be better recepted if you talked about it/even if you retitled it as “Reasons why you may not want to use pedals” If you love something (which you surely love pedals if youve bought so many) its not stupid. Find a pedal order and settings that work, get some George L cables so you can ensure connection points yourself, isolated power supply etc. I mean if you trust and know your gear, you shouldn’t have any issues. Understand pedal response to changes or just lock in settings with duct tape or peacepoti knobs. Idk man I think theres workarounds for all of these issues. Theres something special about each individual pedals character, and the ability to inspire yourself and shape your tone cannot be replaced.
Sorry, this is a pretty poorly thought out video and does't seem to be based on experience or logic. Pedalboards exist to organise a signal chain of pedals that the player requires that allows for faster setup & teardown at gigs. It's very easy to set levels and EQ, the knobs are there in front of you and it's also why soundcheck exists. It seems like you've never paid a gig, even a small venue does them. It makes no difference to any decent FOH engineer what you use, plus a multi-effects doesn't automatically solve any level & EQ issues, they can actually be worse with presets. The vast majority of gigging musicians are not buying pedals to impress people, it's for the sounds they require for their gigs. You don't invest in a pedalboard, you're investing in the pedals. The size of your pedalboard has no correlation with the success of your band. Regarding technical issues, individual pedals are easy to swap out and the show goes on, if a multi-effects goes and that your only device for your sounds, that's the show down the drain. You need backups regardless of what gear you use. More complexity requires more practise, simple as that. So if somebody is using a switching system, there'll be a reason for that and they'll know what they are doing with it, they aren't turning up to a gig whilst reading the manual. Don't repeat what you read on forums as fact, get out there and experience it for yourself.
Sounds like someone who’s never gigged before. Like ever.
Only as a drummer. But I've experienced the issues second hand.
pedal porn is a real issue a way to get you to buy heaps of them and make you poor
Halfway through this…I realized…”why the FAHQ am I watching this crap?!?” To each their own, use whatever inspires you. People play music for all sorts of reasons- not only to play shows/make records/live THAT life. I used to and now I make music pretty much solely for mental health reasons and pedals are the shit for that.
social media is generally crappy and we are addicted avoiding making music. go back to the early days or rock and we didnt have a DAW or pedals just an amp and speaker and a tape machine to make your music. so much more simpler and less distracting
Seems like you watched the wrong video. I have a video about how amazing pedals are as well. It's linked at the start of the video. This video series is an experiment to see if negative or positive content gathers more attention. I made two videos in parallel, released within the same minute, covering an extremely polarized side of the gear debate. Not to my surprise at all the negative video is gathering momentum 😶
Try several times…. Want to say I just love this track… the lytic, the meaning…. Thanks You save my lige. My tomortow. Wish i had Fall over your Channel before, I gey you… I just not love- totally blowing away … But damn it was a Long Way all around Music… and it all just get more and more crazy insane…. NIce work - I'm guessing jitter is inherently unsyncable?
It is within Myth it seems. You can set the jitter rate in milliseconds but it lacks the granularity to really hit the right rates and aside from that the clock doesn't seem to be synced with transport anyways :\ I hope Dawesome will add proper S&H at some point :)
Nice one G.
Great video! 32bit float recording is amazing :)
any idea how you turn the sequencer off ?
Sorry for the late reply! I don't think it's possible at this point but it is on the list to be added at a later point. Right now the only option is clearing all sequencer lanes.
Wow, I had no idea that you could use one VST sequencer to control another VST in Reaper. Awesome. DC is already great but now thinking about combining it with Heartbeat by Softube, happy days. Great work man 👍🏾
Thanks for demoing this. It’s pretty interesting. Reminds me a little bit of uTonic in a good way. It looks like you could really get into it from a sound design level.
Nice video. If i undertstood correctly u can load in your own Samples?
Yes you can! And you can also add folders with you favorite samples if you want quick access :)

Sadly no. Philips has deemed this a feature and not a bug 😶
@@SyntheticFuture No ways - literally the dumbest feature I've ever encountered ever - makes me mad :((
Its sad that its impossible to know about this type of bullshit before buying a tv. Like how would you even know what to google to find the idiotic ui flaws or other problems. I really hate Philips and never buying anything they make.

Can I send the image from the Sony camera to my mobile phone without a gimbal through this device?
You can absolutely. The only question is why you'd chose this option over the Sony app though. The Sony app is free =)
@@SyntheticFuture The Sony app have a delay. It covers a short distance. And only one device can be connected
Your modules are amazing!
Thank you very much! I consider myself mostly an instigator in this project so I have forwarded your comment to Mr. R_Ware who made a lot of the magic happen 😁
Too much talking dude present the sounds
Great track, the guitar and bass are on point!
sounds ace! great track :)
Thanks for adding the LEDs. What'd be real cool is if VM allowed you to animate the cable flow better than that tiny-ass pixel that goes up the cable. Something like a flowing shimmer or something. That's just for beginners like me though. A lot of patches take me a long friggin' time to trace and comprehend. :)
When you go to Settings -> Cables you have the option to set a mode for transparent cables. if you select "all but current jack" and turn up the overall transparency of cables you can more easily follow signal paths when hovering over jacks as this cable will then be not transparent and therefore will stick out from the rest. hope that helps :)
very useful video ,thank you !
It seems to me that just enough people are gaining just enough benefit from AI in just enough ways that they are willing to either ignore or not pay enough attention to the dark side of this wave of technology. Which is kinda scary ...
Yeah, I'm absolutely hearing you on this man. AI is already causing the world problems, and it's only going to get worse. I've seen people trying to pass off AI art as real art, some are even trying to say that there is an art to prompting ffs. AI music is already causing issues and the whole deepfake thing has come to major awareness here in London after someone created a deepfake of our mayor saying stuff, which made the national news. What is most disturbing to me is the conjunction between AI and robotics, which is also advancing in leaps and bounds. There are videos online showing robots that can play football with each other, who knows what the military black ops guys are working on ... the future is really not looking too rosy dude ...
Ah yeah physical integration is a whole topic I didn't even touch. This type of learning combined with robotics is equal parts awesome and downright frightening 😶
When I try to connect my 7c to the transmitter on my cell phone's Wi-Fi it says "connected without internet" Could someone help me, thank you very much
Korg editor does have program change when you click on assign type in the drop menu you can select it.
As you can see in the video at the time it wasn't an option. They may have added it in the meantime which would be awesome. This method is still useful though for the controllers that lack the program change option 👍🏻
